Gateshead And District League Report

Belle Vue extended there lead at the top of the Premiership Table with a 1-0 win over last years Champions Fiddlers Three. In a tight game that saw few chances Cook grabbed the decisive goal with a cute finish from twenty yards. Peartrees good season continues with a 2-0 home win over bottom club Stella who look doomed. Travellers Rest and Blue Star shared the spoils with a 0-0 draw with both rearguards and keepers grabbing all the plaudits.

In Division One Holmeside led three times at home to Thomas Wilson but could only manage a 3-3 draw whilst The Globe won a five goal thriller against The Shakespeare with a brace from Simpson the highlight of the game. Waldridge Park got back to winning ways with a 7-1 win ove

Sorry its late mate – if you cant use it, no bother.

The Holmeside wasted a chance to pick up all three points against the Thomas Wilson, when the sides met at Dunston.  Holmeside started brighter, and by half time had built up a two goal cushion, but early in the second half Andy Wilson headed home Lee Boyle’s corner to pull one back.  Within a few minutes it was all square when Boyle found himself free in the box and finished neatly.  The game turned again within a minuye when gary Rayne fouled in the box and Holmeside again took the lead from the penalty spot.  The Wilson rallied and when Scott Foster was fouled, another penalty was awarded, and with normal taker Danio Clark on the bench, Boyle stepped up to score his second of the game and ensure the points were shared in a 3-3 draw.
